Flood Irrigation

Flatlining.

Conversion of flood ground to pressurized irrigation is critical to the water conservation and quality dilemma.

Mechanized irrigation is a natural upgrade. Research shows that it almost always delivers higher yields with massive savings in water and labor and fewer maintenance problems—all with less damage to the environment. In hot, desert climates, solid set irrigation can also provide benefits of cooling and improved germination for vegetables.

Flood irrigation is still common in some areas, and it's important to properly maintain your control systems to reduce tailwater. In locations where the irrigation source is pressurized before it enters on-farm canal systems, irrigation scheduling can be improved using Nelson control valves and TWIG wireless automation.
